Knoxville Academy of Medicine

The Academy serves as the local medical society for physicians of knox county and surrounding counties in east Tennessee. Its purpose is to afford a medium for free discussion and exchange of ideas among physicians, enabling them to retain high ideas of Medicine and to continue the unselfish rendering of the highest possible quality of medical service to the community. The Academy also encourages research and medical education, disseminates accurate medical information and knowledge to the public, seeks enforcement of laws pertaining to the practice of Medicine, fosters the professional interests of its members further whenever possible the preservation and improvement of the wholesale observance of the principles of medical ethics.
