Program areas at For Her
Counseling and Individual Advocacy- For Hers professional mental health services offer culturally-grounded, trauma-informed, and evidence-based interventions and care for women impacted by trauma. In 2023, For Her conducted 308 individual counseling sessions. Additionally, through individual advocacy efforts, For Her provides access to essential resources and empowers women to problem-solve current barriers and plan for their future.
Support Groups- For Hers peer support programs, led by mental health professionals and lived experience experts, provide encouragement and accountability for personal growth and self-sustainability. Support groups also address the personal, social, parental, relational, and vocational effects of trauma and other stressors. In 2023, For Her provided 71 support group sessions.
Community Education- For Her educates the community on barriers such as trauma, abuse, and poverty that disproportionately affect women. For Her also delivers engaging workshops and hosts community events that empower women to interrupt cycles of trauma and advance toward self-sufficiency and holistic well-being. In 2023, For Her hosted 25 workshops aligned with For Hers key pillars of mental health, economic empowerment, and community support.
