Program areas at La Schneiderdhs Mounds and Habitat Uniting Native Tribes FND
In accordance with mahunt's primary exempt purposes: to procure, put back to wild, propagate, preserve, protect, perpetuate and pay for isolated natural (near pristine) properties/habitat where up to two people at one time per property/habitat can commune in nature with solitude (during a portion of the legal hunting season, entrants may hunt). To educate and connect with the public of the importance of past and continued ethical regulated licensed hunting in the usa and to saving land/habitat. To display visuals of wildlife/habitat and flora/fauna on mahunt's properties.since inception, mahunt's properties/habitat experienced two phases each year - (1) where its isolated near pristine environment creates a sanctuary for preserving wildlife and wild flora since no human entry is permitted and (2) when public limited human entry by up to two persons(continued on statement two)
(continued from statement one)at one time per property (plus limited caretaker/crop activity) allows communing in nature with solitude where licensed ethical entrants "may hunt" during the legal hunting season. Phase (1) has encompassed over 90% of the days annually (although 85% of the days annually are available for public limited human entry). Phase (2) - entrants have generally only executed entry during the periods when hunting is legal.combining phase (1) with putting the properties back to wild, Habitat enhancement, and predator impact minimization has fostered the initial appearance on the properties after long absences of giant canada geese (once thought extinct), ringneck pheasants, bobwhite quail, eastern wild turkeys, bald eagles, and sandhill cranes with the continuing population of whitetail deer, woodducks, mallards, and numerous song and non-game birds expanding in number and majesty. (continued on statement three)
(continued from statement two)preserved near pristine nature/operated property/habitat (dunn #1) 38.2 acres town of dunn, dane county, wi gifted at $275,000 in 1999. The public is provided a tranquil view of scenic and open space for hundreds of nearby walkers, drivers, and boaters. Eastern wild turkeys abound after first appearing in 2009. Ringneck pheasant's population stable since 2005.
