Laguna Beach Community Foundation (LBCF)

Terry Smith Trust Fund & Wayne L Peterson Trust Fund:In 2021, the Foundation was the recipient of a large testamentary gift. The donors left instructions for the Foundation as to how to distribute the funds to certain 501(c)(3) organizations.In 2022, following the instructions left by the donors, we distributed $651,632 from the Terry Smith Trust and the Wayne L Peterson Trust Funds to Laguna College of Art and Design ($524,632), Pomona College ($68,000), St. Mary's Episcopal Church ($34,000) and Seaside Legal Services ($25,000).

To establish and maintain charitable funds to promote philanthropy.

Laguna COVID-19 Relief Fund:Thanks to philanthropic leaders of the Laguna Beach community, LBCF partnered with the Boys and Girls Club to raise nearly half a million dollars to support members of the community, be they residents or local employees, affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. $441,000 was distributed to nearly 1000 people in need. In 2022, the organization also contributed over $111,000 to Charities Aid Foundation America.
