Lake County Farm Bureau promotes and protects Lake County agriculture, improves the quality of life in the area and serves as a voice for local agricultural producers. The organization highlights several farms and ranches through videos, which were used to boost agritourism in the community. Recently, members presented a kindergarten Ag Day at a local elementary school where students learned about agriculture and plant life. To reinforce their learning, they received a pineapple and an agricultural activity book.

Program areas at Lake County Farm Bureau

Members presented a kindergarten Ag Day at a local elementary school, students learned about agricultre and the life cycle of plants as they rotated through 5 stations. They received a pineapple to reinforce what they learned and were provided with an agricultural related book.
Lake County produced three videos highlighting several farms and ranches in our area. The videos were used in conjunction with our agritoursim brouchures to help promote agriculture within our community. Agritourism is a way to educate consumers on what farmers and ranchers do by getting them on the farm. These educational opportunites help the county work towards improving relationships with the community and the betterment of those engaged in agriculture.
Lake County Farm Bureau held its annual speech contest. Students were asked to research an agricultural related topic. Each year students learn about current topics impacting agriculture while developing public speaking and research skills.
