Paint Lakewood program lakewoodalive's paint program is a resource for low-moderate income households who are looking to address their exterior painting needs. Services offered in 2022-2023: services july 1, 2022- june 30, 2023 financial impact lifetime of program 2010-2022 financial impact paint program, 8 projects with a financial impact of 57,470, 142 projects between 2010 and 2023 with a total financial impact of 609,244 all 8 clients served through the paint Lakewood program are low-moderate income (80% or less than area median income) 6 of 8 clients were elderly citizens or 75% 4 of 8 were female heads of household or 50% 4 of 8 were single female senior heads of household or 50% housing programing lakewoodalive administers the following housing programing: -the paint Lakewood program -aging in place -the Lakewood tool box -the knowing your home free educational series -assisting with hoarding & bedbug cases -recommending contractors to clients -intaking and assisting with applications for city of Lakewood funded home renovation financing -yard clean ups -leaf raking -snow shoveling program -volunteer based home renovation projects housing client spotlight lakewoodalive champions housing support for residents who are seniors, disabled, and/or have low-to-moderate income. One example of a continuum of support we have lead over the years is for housing client mrs. m. her Lakewood home has undergone a series of improvements over the years thanks to lakewoodalive. In 2019, we worked with help to others (h2o) for a volunteer yard clean up. In 2021, some lakewoodalive staff and volunteers masked up and painted the interior walls of the house. In spring of 2023, her house was approved for our paint Lakewood program, and the exterior painting began, as well as some tuck pointing that needed to be done to her brick chimney. All these small projects to her historic home add up to keeping her home healthy, safe, and looking beautiful small business signage program: lakewoodalive assisted 7 small businesses access a city of Lakewood signage grant, by guiding business owners through completing the application, submitting plans to the architectural board of review, and seeing the project through to completion. Businesses: t-styles, pachamama, oktober's, despina's bakery, spellbound, the grooming loft by sophie, happy bear small business districts lakewoodalive acts as a fiscal sponsor for 3 thriving small business districts in Lakewood, including the west end business alliance, uptown business alliance, and downtown Lakewood business alliance. Lakewoodalive supports small business -track and research the available commercial properties in Lakewood and update the available properties page on the city website. Lakewoodalive events each year lakewoodalive puts on several community building events that serve as seasonal traditions for friends, family, and neighbors in Lakewood. Most of these events are free to attend and fun for all who join, whether that be Lakewood residents or visitors from the greater cleveland area, northeast Ohio, or beyond 1.front porch concert series 2022 - fridays in july -an outdoor concert series that takes place on the front steps of the Lakewood public library and at madison park pavilion, the shows take place every friday evening in june & july. 2.lakewood summer meltdown - june 16, 2022 -the biggest block party in Lakewood, the Lakewood summer meltdown is our annual race and street fest, complete with a 5k race, 1 mile family fun walk & run, beer garden, water moose, food trucks & vendors, activities, live entertainment, and more 3.spooky pooch parade - october 15, 2022 -our beloved dog costume contest has canines and their trusty owners parading the streets surrounding madison park, dressed to the nines. With vendors, entertainment, and activities it is a pet and family friendly event that people look forward to every october. 4.lakewood chocolate walk - october 27, 2022 -a fun spin on trick-or-treating, but for the 21+ crowd. Presented in partnership with downtown Lakewood business alliance, the Lakewood chocolate walk provides attendees with more than 20 "sweet stops" throughout downtown where they can collect chocolate themed treats, interact with local businesses, and enjoy of night on the town. 5.light up Lakewood - december 3, 2022 -tis the season is a statement that rings true every year at light up Lakewood. The holiday season is kicked off at this event each year, with a parade, street festival, tree lighting, and fireworks show 6.loving Lakewood: out of this world - february 25, 2023 -loving Lakewood is our themed annual fundraising gala. This year the sky was the limit with loving Lakewood: out of this world, where we brought space down here on earth 7.birdtown picnic - june 10, 2023 - birdtown picnic takes place in late spring every year to celebrate community, provide a free meal to those in need, connect our neighbors with community resources, and bring family friendly activities to the birdtown neighborhood.
