Program areas at LLGI
The donated goods and retail services program involves the collection, processing, distribution and selling of used donated clothing and other donated items in 14 retail locations and 1 outlet store throughout central Illinois. This program provides approximately 186 employment opportunities for disabled, disadvantaged, and hard to employ individuals. The revenue generated from this program helps support community based programs and job placement services.
The rehabilitation and mission service programs provide in-house day programming and work adjustment training for approximately 29 disabled participants. The youth mentoring program helps at risk youths age 12 to 29 build career plans, complete school and help them prepare for the workplace through structured supportive relationships with adult mentors. 136 youth are served through the program.
The contracts and industrial service programs provide employment for 1 disabled and disadvantaged individual at 6 different community sites in the springfield Illinois area. These programs provide a variety of work experience in custodial, cleaning and ground keeping duties.
