Land O'Lakes Venture37 provides in-kind, financial and technical assistance to communities and individuals in developing countries. 2023 projects included the following:bangladesh:the usda-funded bangladesh trade facilitation project (btf) will expand regional and international trade in agricultural goods by addressing systemic constraints to agricultural trade at bangladeshi ports; simplifying and automating import and export processes; improving the capacity of government agencies, laboratories, and warehouses; and by fostering private and public investment, especially in cold storage.ethiopia:ethiopia transforming agriculture (sub to rti) - increase access to healthy diets, particularly for women and children, by improving the comptetiveness, inclusiveness and resilience of the food and agriculture systems.sustainable commercialization of sexed dairy genetics in east africa (sub to abs global) - establishing a commercially viable sexed semen market that will inclusively grow the competitiveness of the dairy market by increasing small scale producer demand and willingness to pay for sexed semen, improving last mile delivery of ai sexed semen, and improving the enabling environment to establish a commercial market. Kenya:eac trase project - expand the trade of agricultural products domestically, regionally and internationally in the eac by domesticating the east african community sanitary and phytosanitary (sps) legal framework (eslf) and building capacity among key public and private institutions to ease sps barriers to trade.kenya forage development project (kfd project) - aims to empower women smallholder dairy farmers and increase the availability and quality of milk in the market in kenya.madagascar:maharo (subrecipient to catholic relief services) - a project surrounding food security in androy and atsimo andrefana. Venture37 will be involved with activities that aim to improve all aspects of the livestock value chain, with a focus on vulnerable households and members of the community, such as pregnant/lactating women, children under 5, and people with disabilities.malawi: mcat - activities on this project will drive and accelerate the transformation of malawi's agricultural economy and foster farmers who are prosperous, resilient, diversified and food-secure. Rwanda: row - will sustainably increase the availability of, access to, and consumption of animal-source foods (asf) through development of a profitable market. Egypt:taib - building the capacity of the government of egypt to build the capacity an agency of the g0e whose charter is to develop and nationalize food safety standards and certification requirements.egypt trade (sub to palladium) - facilitating trade export standards for food safety in egyptgeorgia:sqil - usda funded project that is working to improve and strengthen the beef and dairy value chain.drc faw - in coordination with development and research actors and the government of the drc, this project addresses three components: validate safe and cost-effective integrated pest management (ipm) technologies suitable for smallholder maize producers; facilitate system adoption of suitable technologies and approaches that will build the resilience of smallholder producers and the supporting market system; strengthen the enabling environment necessary to coordinate systemic approaches to fall armyworm (faw) response.tanzania:tanzania ag results - a multilateral initiative financed jointly by the governments of australia, canada, the united kingdom, the united states, and the bill & melinda gates foundation (each, a "contributor") that uses pay-for-results prize competitions to incentivize, or "pull", the private sector to overcome agricultural market barriers by investing in innovative research and delivery solutions that improve the lives of smallholder farmers. Land O'Lakes Venture37 is a subawardee of tadb, along with bain & company, inc. (bain) heifer international, and global dairy platform (gdp). Land O'Lakes Venture37 will contribute to inclusive agricultural transformation goals by enabling public-private partnerships to (a) increase the incomes of small-scale producers by enabling inclusive access to formal milk aggregation, processing, and marketing systems; (b) sustainably increase on-farm production, productivity and income of small-scale dairy producers by enabling them access to effective inputs and services (e.g. Cattle vaccines, feed, forage and genetics); (c) increase women's economic empowerment by developing and implementing gender-transformative approaches to enhance women's participation in the dairy value chain and increase their access and control over productive assets; and (d) increase equitable access to improved quality dairy nutrition by improving the distribution and sales of safe and affordable milk and milk products in both rural and urban areas and both formal and informal channels.dna building inclusive livelihoods - this project, funded by the swedish international development agency, focuses on reaching resource-poor, opportunity-constrained stakeholders across the dairy value chain, particularily women and youth, to enable inclusive climate-smart economic development.haiti:the resilient livestock market system activity (pare) project in haiti, a five-year project funded by usaid, is focused on increasing the resilience of households and communities in the northern and southern parts of the country through improvement of the livestock market system, increasing the accessibility of imputs and services in the livestock market system and improving marketing and private sector engagement in livestock.lesotho:sustainable transformation of enterprises in the poultry sector (steps) -- the objective of this 5-year usda funded project is to increase the agricultural productivity of dual and single purpose poultry through improving producer access to improved inputs, services, finance and end-market linkages, as well as to expand trade of argicultural poultry products locally through improved access to finance, quality inputs and consistent end markets. Other projects are:nourishing properity alliance (npa) - this gates funded program being implemented in both ethiopia and kenya is focused on increasing productivity and incomes of small scale farmers through access to improved animal feed sources. The 5-year cooperative resilience & equity activity (core) project funded by usaid will foster vibrant, sustainable cooperative ecosystems in rwanda and zambia, in which self-managed cooperatives and all their members flourish economically and socially. Through core, Venture37 will take a localized and market-responsive approach, engaging market actors, including women and youth, in activity design, implementation and measurement to tailor activities to their unique needs while strengthening their capacity to create sustainable solutions.farmer-to-farmer inclusive food systems (ifs) is funded by usaid and seeks to strengthen food systems and inclusion in egypt, lebanon and rwanda through volunteer technical assistance. Cd4 - seeks to build the capacity of apex organizations and primary cooperatives in rwanda and malawi to increase the competitiveness of cooperative members in the market place.f2f fsq - providing expert volunteers to support processing and producing organizations and businesses in lebanon, egypt and morocco.
