Program areas at Larger Than Life USA
Dream trip- each year, we bring a group of 35 teenagers ages 11-18, accompanied by a medical team and volunteers, on a 10-day dream trip to the disney parks in orlando, Florida.
Local families this program supports families of sick children who arrive in the us for weeks or months to receive special treatments. The organization provides them transportation, food, clothes, creating a community around them and much more, including financial and professional emotional support.
Three preschool maintenance - Larger Than Life fund the maintenance of our two kindergartens located in central israel and in beer-sheva, in the south. Additionally, we are completing construction plans for our third recovery and learning center in jerusalem.
Patient hospital coordinators - hospital coordinators serve in the oncology wards in hospitals across israel. The coordinator is the link between the family and the social worker and the organizations support.
Summer camp for teenagers - Larger Than Life USA supports summer camp for children with cancer in israel every summer. A week away from the harsh routine of the hospitals and treatments. The counselors are volunteers whose cancer is in remission and are a vital source of support.
Medical supplies and treatment fund- Larger Than Life provides funding for life-saving medications and treatments that are not covered by the standard health insurance benefits.
Summer camp for toddlers - this special summer camp is designed for toddlers and their families, it is the time when the family is together enjoying many activities away from the hospital and treatments.
Humanitarian fund-we provide funding for basic necessities, such as food and essential medications, for economically disadvantaged families with sick children.
Families retreat- we organized a four day retreat in eilat for 50 families with sick children, ages 1-13, providing them with quality time together as a family.
Emergency aid 2023-due to the war in israel, we provide access to therapists for emotional support, and arrange transportation to hospitals far from their communities.
Transplant room activity kits - we provide funding for special kits for children who must remain in isolation for at least one month at the hospital following a bone marrow transplant.
