Small Business assistance: the Latino Business Foundation Silicon Valley (lbfsv) stands out for its dedication to empowering local family businesses, particularly those from low to median income brackets, with 95% of their members falling within this range. Notably, 80% of their supported entrepreneurs are women, underscoring lbfsv's commitment to female empowerment. Furthermore, the Foundation serves a diverse community, with 90% of members being Latino and the remaining 10% representing various immigrant groups. Lbfsv has supported numerous entrepreneurs through its diverse array of programs. These initiatives are designed to bridge language barriers and offer bilingual support in both english and spanish. The Foundation's key offerings include a comprehensive Business academy course, a small Business incubator, a partner referral network, and a series of workshops that address the most pressing challenges faced by entrepreneurs. A hallmark of lbfsv's approach is its responsiveness and adaptability. The Foundation operates a hotline for small Business inquiries, having managed over 420 calls last year. This service provides immediate assistance and expert guidance on a wide range of issues. Lbfsv's commitment to personalized support is evident in its tailored, one-on-one assistance for entrepreneurs, whether they need help completing grant applications or require social media strategies to promote their businesses. Additionally, the Foundation offers group programs to meet collective needs, ensuring comprehensive support for all its members. Through these efforts, the Latino Business Foundation Silicon Valley continues to foster growth, resilience, and success for small businesses within the community, maintaining its vital role as a cornerstone of support for local entrepreneurs.
Business academy: since its inception, the Latino Business academy has enrolled over 2,950 students and proudly graduated more than 1,100 entrepreneurs, highlighting its significant impact on fostering entrepreneurial growth within the community. The Latino Business academy, in partnership with my own Business institute (mobi) of santa clara university, offers a comprehensive 12-module course designed to empower both aspiring and existing entrepreneurs. This program ensures direct access to high-quality, easily accessible training resources, with personalized guidance provided by a dedicated team of coaches and lbfsv staff. The curriculum is delivered in both english and spanish and covers a wide range of essential topics, including Business planning, financing, licensing and permits, accounting and cash flow management, and much more. This holistic approach equips entrepreneurs with the necessary technical and financial knowledge to achieve Business success. Participants benefit from the flexible structure of the program, receiving one-on-one coaching and tailored support to navigate and complete the course effectively. The Latino Business academy remains committed to nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit and supporting small Business aspirations within the community.
Women in power: the women in power initiatives by the Latino Business Foundation of Silicon Valley empower women entrepreneurs by providing a strong network of support and entrepreneurship opportunities. These initiatives include two main programs: mujeres imparables and single mothers Business owners.mujeres imparables aims to equip women with the skills and resources needed to overcome obstacles and achieve their entrepreneurial goals. This year, we celebrated another anniversary of the program, which has grown to include 614 members. Our most popular workshop series attracted 288 attendees across three sessions, each offering a seven-hour curriculum. Participants who completed all classes received a certificate to enhance their professional resumes and develop vital skills in communication, teamwork, and leadership.the single mothers Business owners program addresses the unique challenges faced by single mothers who are both entrepreneurs and sole-income providers. This program provides tailored support to help these women balance their entrepreneurial endeavors with their roles as primary income providers.through workshops, speaker series, and community-building activities, these initiatives cover essential topics such as social media marketing, web presence, access to capital, and networking dynamics. By partnering with professionals, we equip participants with the necessary tools for economic independence, ensuring they can explore their full potential and succeed as entrepreneurs. Lbfsv remains committed to fostering the growth and resilience of women entrepreneurs, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to succeed.
