Program areas at Latinos for Education
Latinos for Education's mission is to develop, place, and connect essential latino leaders in the Education sector, while mobilizing latino voice to promote practices and policies that remove barriers to educational opportunity. We do this by growing latino leadership across the Education sector, building an ecosystem of latino Education leaders working toward a more equitable Education for all students, and mobilizing leaders and communities on issues impacting latino students and families via advocacy across the country. During bridge year 2023, Latinos for Education did this by performing the following activities/programs:- aspiring latino leaders fellowship - advances the leadership journey and expands the sphere of influence of 50-75 latino mid- to senior-level school and district staff.- latino board fellowship - trains and supports 15-25 senior-level latino leaders to serve on Education non-profit board of directors.- latinx teachers fellowship - equips 40-70 early-career latino k-12 teachers to navigate the increased demands of a changing educational landscape and improve their likelihood of progressing in their careers as teacher leaders.- familias latinas por la educacion: trains and supports 30-40 latino guardians of school-aged children who want to positively impact their Education.- advocacy - activates the collective latino community voice on unique issues impacting latino students and families via advocacy and policy change.- edcentro - is an online platform created to connect and support our national network of nearly 4,500 latino Education leaders.
