Lawyers For Good Government Action Fund

Advocacy/outreachl4gg Action Fund supported the 2nd year of the state legislative advocacy academy (slaa), a training program for Lawyers and law students on how to conduct state-level legislative advocacy to defend civil and human rights in state houses nationwide. More than 100 Lawyers joined the slaa and accessed our 9 expert training modules in 2023.l4gg Action Fund launched the state legislative advocacy academy leaders program, a cohort of 21 Lawyers and law students committed to (1) engaging in legislative advocacy in their home state; and (2) helping to mobilize other Lawyers and law students in their home state to achieve systemic change.

Reproductive rights and bodily autonomy:we supported efforts in Maryland, working closely with Maryland governor west moore, to draft and advocate for a groundbreaking executive order to proactively protect gender-affirming care in the state.

Project corazon / immigrants rightswe supported federal advocacy efforts to help ensure asylum seekers at the u.s. southern border were provided the legal right to seek asylum in the midst of changes to border policies, including the introduction of the cbp one app early in 2023 and proposed federal rule changes later in the year. We organized grassroots advocacy from our community members and submitted comments to the proposed rule change.
