Held several events : 2022-23 rise of margazhi festival collaboration Layyasaaram is humbled to be part of this very noble undertaking - rise of margazhi 2022 - an online music festival that brings together a potpourri of cultural events from music and dance to food and fashion. Partnering with flute n feather dance company and Wisconsin indian cultural Arts this festival seeks to raise funds for medical equipment and supplies for sri premika varadhan clinic in tamil nadu india. Sri premikavaradhan clinic offers weekly free medical care to over 10 villages. Fall 2022 - carnatic music revival post-pandemic celebrating 75 years of india's independence, we presented a concert tour by 7 artists - 5 leading melodic performers and 2 eclectic percussionists - a tour aptly titled seven - five. Fall 2022 - double header lecdem + concert in collaboration with imsom rise of margazhi 2021 - 2022 rise of margazhi 2021-2022 this is a fund-raising initiative for sri premika varadan clinic for year 2021-2022. Since the organization was unable to host an annual in person thematic dance production this year, our sole effort for this noble endeavor will be channeled through this online festival for margazhi 2021-22. Sri premika varadan clinic is a divine effort to help the medically underserved and underprivileged, in and around the village of maharanyam. Hundreds of villagers are seen and assessed at this site day over day, in multiple faculties. The facility has been expanding its capabilities and clinician base, especially during these tough times when more people need access to healthcare. The goal for the year was to raise usd 100k. Celebrating one of sri muralidhara swamijis greatest works, madhurageethams through various art forms during the auspicious month of margazhi Layyasaaram conducted this event in 2021 thyagaraja aradhana akhandam - various musicians like murugaboopathi, vk manimaran, kn shashikiran, nirmala rajasekar and sriram natarajan from doing a virtual thyagaraja aradhana with 300 musicians, for 50 hours non-stop. Sri thyagaraja akhada gaanam is an idea that came up five days before the actual shoot but turned into a beautiful series of concerts with the musicians coming together to offer sangeetha samarpanam to the saint. Aired through social media on february 6th and 7th 2021, Layyasaaram helped sponsor this event as well as helped produce the concert by vid nirmala rajasekar.
