Program areas at Leadercomm Global Community Leaders
Founded in 2018 by Neil Shorthouse original co-founder of Communities In Schools and longtime President of CIS of Georgia PIC pairs trained volunteer coaches with adults who are pursuing tangible goals for moving beyond difficult circumstances and financial constraints or living situations. LeaderComm supports PIC through strategic planning marketing and fundraising strategies and identifying and introducing potential partners and investors. In March 2023 Bill and Neil met with BlackRock Managing Director Rick Rieder about a funding request to implement PIC at CIS sites in 4 cities. Another meeting is planned with BlackRock Foundation director Claire Chamberlain.
Eradicating Artless Education in New York City Public Schools This year Thrive has expanded its performing arts to musical instruction using the Rhyming power of Hip Hop and empowering students to produce their own musical compositions. Tools for schools to assist in programming were created through Thrive's team of artists. Please see the Addendum for photo. Bill meets monthly with Founder Jeremy Del Rios guiding the leadership team and board of directors as they strengthen their infrastructure and continue board recruitment efforts and connecting Thrive to potential donors and advocates. Thrive Collective with its ongoing presence in 50 schools and its relationship with over 200 schools is an ideal partner for a prospective CIS of New York if current discussions lead to a partnership
LeaderComm provides ongoing guidance on improving infrastructure and board development. Founders Blinky Rodriguez and Robert Arias were invited to a White House event celebrating the bill signing for the Safe Communities Act in . Robert was invited as one of only 7 Latino nonprofit leaders as guest of the White House to the State of the Union Address.
