Program areas at LEAP
Developing people - Leadership development and training programs for upper management Asian and pacific islanders (api). Such programs included: 1) customized 3-day in-person pathways or 6-day virtual pathway programs for companies seeking to increase the success of their api technical and professional manager/team leader levels. Conducted 6 virtual programs with 83 participants and one in-person 3-day program for 9 participants. Each virtual participant spent 24 hours over a course of six days during the virtual sessions and 24 hours in the in-person session. Participants also received 6 hours of individualized executive coaching. 2) leap advance (ldp for higher Education) program designed for the professional development of api college/university administrators was held in-person at kellogg west conference center in pomona, ca for 38 participants. Each participant spent 19.5 hours over 5.5 days. 3) leap exceed, a virtual executive Leadership program for senior managers and directors conducted 3 virtual programs to 18 participants who spent 24 hours over 6 days. An in-person exceed program was delivered over three days to 6 participants. Each exceed participant received 12 hours of executive coaching sessions. Donated in-kind services from trainers,consultants and executive coaches for $113,464, facility use $20,000 and $1,435 for travel
Workshop series - general Leadership Education through forums, workshops and presentations. Workshops and presentations were primarily delivered on a virtual platform. Workshops help participants enhance their Leadership skills, address the influence of perceptions, behaviors, and values on personal efectiveness, and help foster understanding of api communities, cultures and issues. Lengths of workshops varied from one hour to 4 hours. 126 workshops were presented to a total of 5,276 participants across the united states. Leap also delivered monthly presentations during, "leap connect", free sessions open to the general public that were in interested in connecting to a larger api community virtually. 1,834 participants joined these monthly one-hour virtual gatherings.
Empowering communities - comprehensive Leadership training, organizational development and capacity building programs and workshops to promote the cultivation of new community leaders, to strengthen the effectiveness of existing community-based organizations and to establish a supportive network for mutual assistance, resource sharing and collaborative problem solving. In 2023, programs included 1) leap in-person impact designed to strengthen the capacity of diverse nonprofit organizations by providing api senior staff for future and current Leadership and management roles in nonprofit organizations. Participants included 17 api senior managers. Each participant gained 40 hours of Leadership development training and 8 hours of executive coaching. An impact alumni event was presented for 3 days of learning, re-energizing and re-connecting for 24 nonprofit leaders in los angeles. 2)leap delivered a two part 6-day in-person engage program for 12 nonprofit executive directors from across the usa. Each executive director also received six hours of executive coaching. Their final project was a "shark tank" simulation to present a "pitch" to a panel of the engage program sponsors. 3)leap emerge, 15 college students participated in a paid eight-week hybrid in-person and virtual summer internship program designed to develop young leaders with practical Leadership skills. The summer interns spent 200 hours over eight-weeks in Leadership training and hands-on experience at identified community based organizations. As part of the program, interns collaborated on a group project to create the "leap emergence magazine" which included a zine of multimedia mediums such as writing, photography, filam and art to showcase the impact of Asian americans and pacific islanders 4)leap also delivered 10 virtual presentations free to college students on topics such as interviewing, managing stress, resume writing,and fireside chats with invited guests. A total of 350 students attended these sessions. 5)in response to the demand for a safe space to heal and learn, leap presented its second wellness retreat for 27 api women in honolulu, hi. Participants received 3.5 days of learning, space for open dialogue and sessions to promote healing and emotional wellness.donated in-kind services for travel $56,257 and supplies $5,021
