Program areas at Leadership Lake County / Lake Erie College
The signature program is designed for established professionals in preparation for Leadership service within an organization and service on non-profit boards and as community leaders. The program offers opportunities to establish relationships across industries and interests among class members, alumni and community members. Signature program participants gain an in-depth understanding of the assets as well as the challenges facing Lake County and our region as they are immersed in experiential days that focus on industry sectors and Leadership skill development. Program day themes include education, government, health and human services, business and labor, public safety and justice and quality of life.
The alumni program provides opportunities for networking, education and civic engagement to graduates of all Leadership Lake County programs. Networking opportunities are hosted and led by alumni committee members each month. The program also brings in local and national thought leaders for alumni as well as members of the public.
The junior Leadership program is designed for high school juniors to acquire Leadership skills and increase civic engagement. The program focuses on skill development including collaboration, critical thinking, communication, creativity, life and career skills, and information technology skills. Monthly program days provide students with a behind-the-scenes look at Lake County through on-site visits, guest speakers and experiential learning activities. Students are introduced to various sectors of the County including government, health and human services, business and recreation.
The community builders program provides professional development for early career and entry-level managers.
The youth Leadership academy is a program for 6th grade students to learn the basics of communication, collaboration, time management, community service and career exploration skills.
