Program areas at Leadership Springfield

The Leadership Springfield adult program trains class participants through a series of intensive daylong, once a month training sessions on Leadership dynamics, civic awareness, criminal justice and public safety, communications and technology, arts and quality of life, health and medical services, education and lifelong learning, and the Springfield community. The goals of this program are to identify key individuals with Leadership qualities and concern for Springfield's future, provide a base for rapport between class participants that will build common ground for present and future communications, provide a systematic educational program to familiarize participants with the community's opportunities, needs, problems and resources, and to highlight the Leadership dynamics that move people and ideas.
The Leadership Springfield alumni association helps alumni remain actively involved in the organization and community by serving as a network of resourceful leaders, promoting continuing education and Leadership development skills, working toward solutions to community challenges, providing Leadership support for major Springfield projects, and providing assistance to the Leadership Springfield board on program curriculum, retreats and related projects.
The Leadership academy program is offered to area high school juniors and seniors. It is a six month version of the adult program.
Designed for mid-to-high level professionals, the access class is a crash course in the community for those who are new to the area or those looking to expand their professional connections. Participants spend two days exploring the city, fostering connections with community leaders and discovering what they can do to impact the world locally.
