Program areas at Leadingage Minnesota
Education: Leadingage Minnesota provided its members with hundreds of education programs required to maintain professional credentials for licensed nursing home administrators, licensed assisted living directors, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, social workers, and more. The types of programs delivered were conferences, regional meetings, certificate programs, leadership training, webinars, workshops, and on-demand learning. The topics covered included workforce, dementia care, supervision, leadership, management, reimbursement, regulatory compliance, and quality, among others.
Information and technical assistance: Leadingage Minnesota published a weekly newsletter and a weekly update, reaching more than 15,000 people via email each week. Additionally, the organization hosted interactive forums called "coaching rooms and "huddles" each month to provide information and assistance to members. Staff also provided hundreds of hours of one-on-one assistance to an estimated 600 member organizations regarding regulatory compliance, payment, quality, workforce, surveys, governance, media relations, and more. Leadingage Minnesota also developed and updated manuals, other technical resources, and expanded our website resource library to support members in their missions of service to seniors in Minnesota.
Advocacy: the organization provided information to elected and appointed officials on a range of issues impacting older adult services. This includes regular meetings with agency staff and regulators. The organization also provided testimony during the state legislative session, monitored legislative hearings, advocated for changes in laws and rules related to aging services, and tracked legislation of interest to members.
Networking: the organization gathered members together through professional networks, district meetings, and other networking events to build relationships and share peer-to-peer learning.
