VOTO LATINO PROJECT: Voto Latino is a civic engagement focused on educating and empowering a new generation of Latinx voters, as well as creating a more robust and inclusive democracy. Through innovative digital campaigns, culturally relevant programs and authentic voices, we shepherd the Latinx community towards full realization of its political power.
YOUNG STUDENT ARTISTSCesar E. Chavez - Dolores Huerta Student Poster Contest, Young Students Awards Ceremony, Cinco de Mayo Student Awards Art Exhibit. The Student Poster Contest is a vehicle for students to develop both, their artistic talents, and their understanding about these iconic characters of U.S. history. The main message of Chavez and Huerta is to show students alternatives forms of resolving issues without the use of violence. Chavez and Huerta emphasized Si se puede Yes, we can find solutions using the dialogue.APRIL 2024: OFFERED AN ART CLASS TO ALL 21 STUDENTS ART CONTEST. INSTRUCTOR WAS SAUL MARTINEZ, FORMER PASCO SCHOOL DIST ART TEACHER. CLASS TITLE ARTIVISTA. RECEPTION HELD ON 05.03.2024 WITH STUDENTS AND PARENTES TO CELEBRATE THE STUDENT CREATIONS.
Leadership skill development for local lulac youth, 2024 we sent to wa dc emerge latino lulac conference. In the fall of 2023 offered the cbs somos latinos students conference to 11th adn 12th high school students from local school districts (psd, ksd & rds). In june 2024 we setn students to the national lulac convention las vegas, nv.
Community outreach, tchcc mariachi festival, copa - colima pasco organization, diversity equity inclussion, 2024 contributed $2.5k to copa summer sunset concert and the tchcc newly created student scholarship
2024: the us supreme court decliend to review the Washington state court case upholding the changes to how elected officials in franklin county are voted into office. County commissiones hold significant power and influence over local polocies and resources, yet for too long, the process has been marred by disparities that hindered latino particiapation. But now, thanks to our hard work in advacy we have a great opportunity to seeing real change take root.still, our work does not stop there. As we look across our commmunities we see countless other institutions needing to reform from school boards in pasco and kennewick to ports that play a crucial role in our regions economy. Chage is required at every level and we are committed to tackling these challenges one step at a time.
