Program areas at League of Women Voters of Oklahoma
The 2022 Oklahoma Voter Guide provided nonpartisan and neutral voting information. The League distributed 153,100 English copies and 7,500 copies in Spanish as well as 358 copies of a Braille version. The print version was available to voters through 160 libraries, 20 newspapers, by two trial nations, and local communities through six League chapters. The Braille version was distributed to public libraries, by individuals, and to the Oklahoma School for the Blind. The print version was available in all 77 counties in Oklahoma. The http://okvoterguide.com website featured the entire guide in single page views and a full PDF version and was available in 12 languages. As of election day the Guide had 42,149 pageviews and 39,932 unique pageviews.
The League of Women Voters of Oklahoma conducted a public forum with a panel composed of proponents for and opponents to State Question 820 for the legalization of recreational cannibus on a special election ballot in March 2023. The panel also included experts in the areas of public health and public safety. The okvoterguide.com website was used to publish the supporting and opposing views on the State Question and provided information on where and how to vote.
For the second year, the Young Voter Registration and Engagement campaign focused on voters between the ages of 18 and 34, typically the lowest voting demographic segment, and used social media most frequented by persons in that age group. Organic content included 145 posts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and paid content included 73 ads reaching 55,000 plus people with 10,000 post engagements, 2.1 million impressions and 16,000 ad clicks.
