Program areas at Learning Club of KCK

In-school and after-school programs serve elementary-aged students with reading interventions, homework help, math instruction, and social-emotional skills. Volunteers work one-on-one with students to meet their educational and social-emotional needs. Extra resources and support are provided as needed, including healthful snacks, utility assistance, prize incentives for children, and other personalized supports.
Learning Club's middle school programs meet the unique needs of students in middle school by providing a full meal, in-depth lessons aligned with state social-emotional standards, physical activities, and time for building positive, healthy relationships and social skills. Sessions are led by highly qualified, trained staff. Lessons are focused on uplifting students, exploring the world, and connecting with our community. All middle school students are welcome.
The Learning Club high school internship program brings together high school students who are looking to serve their community with elementary-aged students who need tutors and mentors. The high school students are transported from their usd 500 schools to Learning Club sites for personal and professional development and to tutor a younger student once a week. College scholarships are available for interns who are interested in becoming teachers.
Learning Club offers a variety of summer program options to families served during the school year in order to meet their individual needs. Options include day camps, overnight camps, or other supports such as delivery of fresh produce or transportation support. Throughout the year, volunteers and staff build relationships with families, which allows customization of summer programs to student availability, interests, and abilities.
