In 2022, Legal Services Attorneys Provided Free Legal Services Which Benefited Over 20,000 Of The Most Disenfranchised Members Of Our Community Who Have Nowhere Else To Turn For Help. As A Result Of Legal Services' Advocacy In 2022, Clients Financially Recovered Or Protected $5.4 Million. These Results Are In Addition To The Extremely Important, Yet Difficult To Quantify Benefits Of Protecting Families From Becoming Homeless, Ensuring That Special Needs Students Receive The Education Necessary To Become Productive Adults, Helping Isolated Seniors Maintain Independence And Dignity By Remaining In Their Homes And Many Other Benefits. In 2022, Legal Services Staff Participated In Approximately 200 Community Education Events Where Members Of The Community, Clients And Social Service Providers Who Serve The Low-Income Community Learn About Their Legal Rights And Increase Their Capacity To Exercise Them. Legal Services' Attorneys Have A Breadth Of Knowledge In Their Fields On The Local, State And National Levels, And Are Committed To Addressing Legal Issues That Pose Barriers To Financial Stability And Open The Door To Economic Prosperity. In 2022 Legal Services Lawyers Resolved A Variety Of Legal Issues That Most Significantly Impact Access To Justice And Financial Stability Including: Eviction Defense, Income And Employment, Consumer And Family Law, Tax, Veteran Benefits, Special Education And Affordable Housing.
