Program areas at LENA Foundation
Lena Foundation (Lena) transforms children's futures through early talk technology and data-driven programs. Lena's core technology is the Lena system, the standard for automatically measuring talk with children, a critical factor in early brain development and predictive of both cognitive and social emotional development.
Lena start - this is a science-based parenting program designed to help 90% of families in poverty not served by federal programs. The best way to build young brains is to increase verbal interactions with adults. The program provides parents with regular feedback from patented early language technology, plus efficient group classes that show them how to improve the talk environment at home.
Lena pro - this is an integrated processing and display software package that enables researchers, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and pediatricians to collect, manage, and analyse multiple recordings of children ages 2 months to 48 months. Lena pro is in use at more than 200 universities, hospitals and other research institutions around the world.
Lena conference - the Foundation has assembled experts in brain science, intervention, behavioral psychology, and economic and public health policy to discuss innovative options for solving the problem, including reports on the Foundation's recently launched Lena start model. This conference is held every other year - 2014 is an off year.
Provide assistance to medical professionals and researchers for the diagnosis and treatment of language disorders and delays in children and adults and to accelerate language development of children ages 0-5 via advanced technology.
