In 2023 The Any Mountain Project undertook a huge expedition, bringing a group of ovarian cancer survivors, caregivers, and doctors to Mt Everest base camp. They did this to raise awareness about Ovarian Cancer as well as $300,000 in funding that went directly to ovarian cancer research. In addition to Any Mountain Expedition Team making it to base camp, Jess Wedel, became the first ovarian cancer survivor to summit!
The 11th annual virtual Gynecologic Cancer Awareness & Arts of Healing Weekend took place January 27-29th, 2023. Weekend features included an Art Showcase displayed at the Georgia Blue Gallery with sales online, a free one-day Gynecologic Cancer Course on zoom and the Trend Alaska Fashion Show Saturday night. People registered for the weekend events with virtual attendance throughout Alaska, the US and even internationally! Roughly $80,000 was raised to further LEWKs mission of gynecologic cancer awareness, education, and support in Alaska.
The 16th annual Alyeska Climbathon went virtual and took place from September 9th, 2023. Nearly 400 dedicated climbers hit the mountain! A heartfelt thank you to our event partner Alyeska Resort, event sponsors: Advanced Oncology Associates, Alaska Cyberknife Center, Dimond Vision Clinic and Mooses/Broke/BearTooth, and all the climbers and generous donors who helped raise $80,000. 100% of funds stay in the state of Alaska with 25% going to the Girdwood Health Clinic and 75% to Let Every Woman Know-Alaska to further our mission of gynecologic cancer awareness and support for Alaskan women and families faced with a GYN cancer diagnosis.
