Program areas at LGBT Technology Institute
Poweron: poweron provides Technology, resources for internet access, and connection to vital information, research, and advocacy to both lgbtq+ organizations and individuals. In 2023, the program distributed 391 devices reaching over 200,000 people across the u.s. Since the program's inception 140 organizations in 40 states and territories have been provided with Technology to help their communities connect to critical online services.
LGBT tech provides policy education on state and federal levels and in the private sector by serving as experiential experts. LGBT tech works to ensure the unique lgbtq+ perspective and experience is considered by decision makers around relevant tech policy.
Paths is a program to inspire and empower lgbtq+ youth and young adults interested in careers in steam fields (science, Technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) through storeytelling by current lgbtq+ steam professionals, and connection to the resources neeed to pursue steam careers including educational grants to remove financial access barriers and mentorship to provide guidance, support, and community.
Digital navigator is designed to empower lgbtq+ individuals and organizations with advocacy and education on digital skills, online safety, affordable internet access, and leadership development to help bridge the digital divide for the lgbtq+ community.
