Program areas at Liberty Prairie
Farm business development center (fbdc) - fbdc is a business incubator where beginning farmers can lease certified organic land with limited access to equipment and infrastructure for up to five years before making the long term investment in farms of their own.
Learning farm - the learning farm creates educational and planning activities that relate to land stewardship, sustainable agriculture, and lifelong learning
Grantmaking - services for the Prairie crossing homeowners association (pchoa) including routine landscape maintenance, common area waste removal, and environmental monitoring and management services.
Fee for service: these services advance the mission by subsidizing on-site educational programming, helping us to conserve or protect the environment through technical assistance, or through building the capacity of other 501(c)(3) charitable organizations.
Community garden and incubator land: fees or tuition received for sustainable food farming land access advance our mission by building the supply of health, local food and serving as a demonstration for a local, resilient food system.
Local food and farm sales: local food and farm sales support educational programming for the Prairie farm corps youth development and job training program.
