Program areas at Life Impact International

Our programs in Brazil are accomplished through grants to Life Impact Brazil, based in Campina Grande, Brazil. We have prevention projects in five Brazilian communities in three regions: Rio de Janeiro, Ceara (northeast), and the Amazon (north). These projects provide a safe place for the children to receive help, tutoring, food, supplies, play games or sports, and learn about Jesus. In 2023, our enrollment grew from about 500 children to nearly 1,000. In 2023, we distributed more than 91,000 meals and 6.5 tons of food. Our mission is to prevent abuse and exploitation since many of the children live in some of the darkest and most dangerous regions of the world for children. Some will sell their bodies for rice and beans. While for others, their only hope for money or status is to be a drug dealer or the girlfriend of a drug dealer. Our Life Impact Brazil team does everything they can to help families in the community with food, education, counseling, and sharing the gospel with them. A professional staff of psychologists and social workers visits families in "favelas" every year. They are trained to recognize any abuse in the home. They also work with public entities to change the community and keep the children safe, holding campaigns to teach the community how to identify child sexual abuse and human trafficking. We also continue working toward opening our first safe home in Brazil in the Amazon region. Grants to Life Impact help pay for projects and administrative costs.
Myanmar/Burma Ministry Because of the civil war, we offer disaster relief to internally displaced people in the jungles of Burma and extremely vulnerable children who are at risk of being taken as child soldiers or arranged child brides. Despite limited access in 2023 due to the civil war, we still helped nearly 2,000 men, women, and children hiding in the jungles in fear for their lives. We delivered 6,270 pounds of food and held 5 outreaches. In addition to relief for those displaced by war, we also completed the House of Hope in Burma. It sits on 12 acres and was home to 13 children impacted by the war
Our programs in Thailand are accomplished through grants to the Life Impact Thailand Foundation, based in Mae Sot, Thailand. The Foundation is the first and only Government recognized and certified safe home on our border was organized to properly facilitate operations in the country. The Life Impact Thailand Foundation has provided for the needs of the children in our safe homes since 2015, when the organization was officially approved as a Thailand government-recognized safe house. Our 18 family-style safe homes are located on 41 acres. Our emergency shelter is in an undisclosed location. In 2023, we housed and cared for 86 underage children who had been exploited, abused, trafficked, or were living as orphans. Ten of these children were rescued in 2023. Every rescued child has house parents, lives in a family-style safe home, and is provided all life's necessities, including education and medical care. The children also participate in extracurricular activities like sports and music programs. Besides rescuing children, we also took steps to prevent thousands of children from being sold, trafficked, or pressured into a life of slavery through our outreach and prevention projects. In 2023, we held 150 outreach events, raising awareness and providing food and supplies, as well as emergency support where needed. We reached over 3,000 vulnerable and at-risk people in schools, slums, and villages. We distributed more than 41,000 pounds of food. We supported as many as 26 families each month with over 13,000 lbs of food and supplies. We also partnered with six schools reaching more than 1400 students. See Schedule F for more details about our grant-making and monitoring process.
General Ministry In 2023, we continued fulfilling our mission to Prevent, Rescue, and Heal. We worked to prevent the exploitation and trafficking of at-risk children, rescue those already victims, and heal those who have experienced trauma because of it. To fulfill our organization's mission in Thailand, Burma, and Brazil, we have multiple prevention projects and continuous outreach programs in place. In Thailand, we have rescue homes through the Life Impact Thailand Foundation and regularly conduct community outreaches along the Thai/Burma border. We are working to open our first rescue home in Brazil. In our prevention projects there, we reach nearly 1,000 children. We feed families and provide children with educational opportunities, tutoring, and extracurricular activities such as ballet and soccer. We also offer vocational training for older children. We provide counseling through all of our programs to help children heal from the trauma they've experienced. And we tell them about the greatest Rescuer of all, Jesus.
Support for Grace Boarding House in Thailand by grants. The grants provide the House with necessities for the children housed.
