During the first year of operation, lcc provided multiple different services focused around serving at-risk youth. - provided mentoring and intervention services to at risk youth.- administered warn risk evaluations.- refered targeted youth to alternative activities for the purpose of providing support and encouraging a disassociation from gangs and creating connections with positive peer influences.- developed and implemented a mentoring program for at risk youth with the goal of diverting them from gang-related activity and affiliations.- served as a liaison between the school, home, law enforcement and/or other Community organizations to facilitate communication between participants.- worked with the adams county juvenile probation department to develop and implement strategies to reduce recidivism of at risk youth- particularly those identified as being affiliated with gang-related activity.- developed and provided an annually occuring parenting course providing resources related to healthy parent/child relationships, discipline, rewards, and problem identification.- cultivated Community partnerships that will provide additional support and resources for program participants.- attended monthly meetings with the othello school district and othello police department to obtain information on gang-related activity within the Community.- worked closely with columbia basin health association ("cbha") mental health professionals as needed to provide intervention and mentoring.- worked closely with othello school district administration, personnel, and counselors as needed to provide at risk youth intervention and mentoring.
