LIGHTHOUSE LICENSE PLATE PROJECTIncome for this program comes from the State of Washington special license plate program. Grants from this program are made to:1) Sound Water Stewards, which is an independent 501(c)(3) organization of trained volunteers working in and around Island County for a healthy sustainable Puget Sound environment through education, community outreach, stewardship,and citizen resource. 2) Other Washington lighthouses which are also 501(c)(3) and are operated by volunteers to fund repairs and improvements to make their facilities more available to the public.3) Other Island County environmental organizations to help fund their work to educate and benefit the environment.4) Washington State Parks, in order to support Fort Casey State Park programs.
WSU Waste Wise, Admiralty Head Docents and Admiralty Head KeepersWSU Island County Waste Wise educates county residents about waste reduction.Admiralty Head Docents provide interpretive services on behalf of Washington State Parks at Admiralty Head Lighthouse and provides volunteers to staff the gift shop at Admiralty Head Lighthouse.Keepers of Admiralty Head provide a membership mechanism that raise funds to support the interpretive and restoration work at Admiralty Head Lighthouse on behalf of LEP.
