Program areas at Liguori Academy
Fortis: the organization runs an accelerated learning program (fortis) in conjunction with the philadelphia school district. The goal of the program is to engage students between the ages of 15-21, who have dropped out of public, private or charter schools, or who are seriously under-credited and at risk of obtaining a high school diploma. They are students located throughout the city of philadelphia that are overaged and under credited.
Philadelphia works: Liguori Academy will support 80 tanf youth eligible students during the contact period of 7/1/22 through 6/30/2023. Staff will work with these students to requalify as needed and as long as they continue to meet program requirements. Staff will also enroll twenty new students consisting of incoming ninth graders and transfer students. The provider will help this year's class to be better equipped to make decisions about what comes next in their lives: college, trade school, the workforce, or the military. In order to effectively introduce young people to life after high school, the provider will offer the following to current students workforce development classes and internships.
Liguori: education of underperforming students in school through its personalized training program in order to significantly close the gap for students in core subjects.
Philadelphia youth network: use participant literacy and numeracy skill levels as an entry point to create an individualized learning environment for each student to achieve accelerated growth in competency levels in a student's four years of high skill with the goal being to graduate at grade level or higher in competencies. In tandem, students will participate in daily career readiness classes that encompass: time management, goal setting, team work, critical thinking, coachability, communication and collaboration.
