Program areas at LHDC
During 2022, the head start birth to 5 program provided comprehensive education, medical, nutrition, health and social services for a funded enrollment of 371 preschool children served through 15 class sessions located in seven centers throughout crawford, harrison, perry, and spencer counties.
During 2022, the state section 8 program provided housing assistance payments to 1,170 individuals in crawford, gibson, spencer, vanderburgh and warrick counties.
During 2022, 5 families in crawford, perry and spencer counties received home weatherization services. All homes received basic energy conservation services which reduces long term energy bills. In the energy assistance program, 1,783 low income disabled and elderly households (3,202 individuals) received assistance in payment of their winter heating bills; 398 households (87-individuals) were werved in the water asistance program; 12 owner occupied and at-risk households had heat restored through a repair or full replacement.
The organization receives funding from various agencies to provide services to low income, elderly, and handicapped individuals.
