Program areas at LISTEN Love is Sharing the Exceptional Needs
Operate a day program that provides accessible space, opportunities, events, and activities that enhance and improve the quality of life for 70 people with disabilities in the Grand Forks and Grafton communities.
The residential services program supports our mission of providing quality services for people with intellectual disabilities, to help them live as independently as possible. We support individuals in their homes, as well as providing transportation for medical, community and social appointments. LISTEN supports adults and children in the community with opportunities for community engagement and events as well as home living skills.
Provide a community center that offers a diversity of enrichment activities including camping, arts and crafts, dances, movies and community sports programs to people with disabilities in the local and statewide disability community. The center is open to people with and without disabilities 6 days a week and is fully accessible to all. Attendance at the Drop In Community Center averages 1600 visits a month.
Self Advocacy Solutions ND is their own ND nonprofit which receives Fiscal Sponsor services from LISTEN. SAS's mission is to educate and support people with disabilities' throughout the state to advocate for themselves and what they want for their lives. SAS holds monthly virtual meetings and is comprised of citizens in most major regions across the state. The organization holds in person educational events concentrating on human rights and advocacy in the most populated regions in ND.
