Literacy Volunteers of Somerset County

Lvsc recruits and trains Volunteers in the fundamentals of Literacy and provides them with ongoing skills and support programs. Lvsc creates tutor-student matches and helps to establish realistice learning goals.during the covid-19 pandemic, lvsc began training Volunteers virtually on zoom. All tutoring was conducted remotely by video chat, email, and phone. In addition to the one-to-one tutoring program, services had expanded to include english conversation groups, and u.s. Citizenship preparation classes.
