Low-Income Persons Empowerment: (1) Help 23 low-income adults to pass professional exams for IN-DEMAND careers; (2) Helped 14 at-risk youths obtain GED and (3) Processed more than 2,125 phone/email inquiries from low-income persons on tax returns, guidance, and tips on their annual tax filings and related issues. Veterans Empowerment: (1) Assisted 27 veterans with business plan, entrepreneurship, finance/capital source, and start-up guide; (2) Provided 221 hours of bookkeeping, accounting, tax, and other technical assistance to veterans-entrepreneurs; and (3) Facilitated $1.9 million in loans to 12 low-income veteran entrepreneurs through borrowers counseling assistance.
