Loudoun Youth leadership program is a week-long leadership program designed to introduce high school Youth to leadership concepts, as well as expose them to local business, government and community leaders. Rising sophomore, juniors and seniors spend some time learning leadership skills in a classroom-type setting, but spend the majority of the week visiting and learning from local business and community leaders. Through these experiences, participants gain real world perspectives on what it means to be a leader.
Loudoun Youth's battle of the bands provides a safe venue for middle and high school bands to perform in front of their peers. Bands compete in three rounds for the chance to be invited to perform at a special evening on the tally ho stage in leesburg giving them an additional opportunity to act as a professional artist. Prizes are awarded to the top place finishers and can include studio time, private lessons with music and songwriting professionals, and more. This program benefits Youth bands, the teens who plan the event, as well as the hundreds of teens who attend the four evenings of competitions as spectators.
This section includes all other Youth programs, including step up Loudoun Youth competition which is a call to action for middle to high school Youth to plan and implement community service and social impact projects that cover a broad range of topics including depression and suicide, stress management, environmental issues, tutoring, bullying, drugs, healthy relationships, fundraising for cancer and lyme research and much more.
