Program areas at Love of Clay County
Clearinghouse: Love INC of Clay County is a clearinghouse for services for the poor and is connected with over 300 local agencies, programs, services or resources for families in poverty. In 2022 Love INC received 1,046 telephone calls and 304 applications for assistance, and approved 107. That year, a total of 1,112 households representing 4,289 individuals received some type of assistance, from a referral, or an emergency kit for the homeless, to assistance with rent to avoid an eviction. Love INC of Clay County had 50 regular volunteers who took calls, processed applications, and met with clients in support of this program, and numerous event volunteers.
Love INC, in partnership with Happy Bottoms, provides diapers and baby care products for families in need. In 2021 Love INC distributed 54,000 diapers to more than 200 babies under the age of four.
Love INC provides emergency rent and utility assistance for families facing an eviction or the shut-off of their utilities. In 2022, 37 families (86 individuals) were able to stay in their homes avoiding an eviction, and 114 families (357 individuals) either kept or had their utilities reconnected. In addition to the assistance provided, Love INC also offered each family six-months of assistance from our household and personal care pantry.
