Program areas at Love of Lake County
Loved twice thrift boutique - under management of the store manager, volunteers staff a resale thrift store that offers clothing, household decor items, kitchenware, furniture and other items. Proceeds support the general operations of the organization.
Gap minstries - under the management of the gap ministry coordinator, volunteers respond to the needs of the people calling into the clearinghouse for assistance. Volunteers deliver furniture, bedding, kitchen and cookware, baby showers and other donated household goods to people in need. Volunteers also sort and launder donated clothing and deliver it to clothing closets run by partners churches.
Clearinghouse (help center) - clearinghouse coordinator manages a staff of volunteers who receive requests for assistance and refer people to where help is available. Most of the requests are handled by Love Inc church partners
New hope ministry - volunteers facilitate and teach classes, and provide coaching designed to restore hope and teach life skills that help people reach the potential god instilled in them. That may include moving from poverty to self-sufficiency. Classes include setting and achieving goals, maintaining healthy boundaries in relationships, financial management, job skills and other life skill enhancements. Transportation - the organization partners with local car repair shops to provide safety related repairs to ensure reliable transportation for a person to get to work, school or appointments.
