Program areas at Maiker Housing Partners Fund
In 2022 Maiker Housing Partners Fund (MHP Fund) received a 3 year grant from the Colorado Health Foundation to create Southwest Adams County Collaborative Training & Community Organizing Institute. Its purpose is to develop and strengthen long-term community resilience and organizing capacity by working with southwest Adams County communities to address the racial and social inequities that exist for communities of color and those living in poverty. While funding came in late 2022 the program started in 2023.In 2023, MHP Fund also received $2,000 from Denver Foundation for Technical assistance and $40,000 from CO Center on Law and Policy for Family and Community Vitality program Voices for Action.
The Community Garden project -Started in 2021, the community garden project includes 21 planter boxes in a quarter acre plot and is funded, run, and managed by Maiker Housing Partner residents. At the end of each season they hold a harvest festival sharing the produce and recipes among community members.
