Description
Lubbock Roots Historical Arts Council promotes a greater understanding of the African American experience through visual and performing arts, as well as the study, interpretation, and preservation of history. In addition, the council supports the Booker T. Washington Park community at Chatman Hill, where fresh veggies are grown to share with volunteers, neighbors, local food pantries, and churches. The garden is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11am-12pm and every other Saturday. For more information on this initiative, visit TheRootsBooker website.
