Program areas at Lutcher Theater
The Lutcher Theater presents a performing arts series that is attended by adults and families. Offerings include national touring Broadway productions, musical artists, dance, drama, and other various events. Pre-show lectures, post-show discussions, meet/greet opportunities, and master classes are sometimes offered. In 2022 the Lutcher presented CeCe Winans, Fiddler on the Roof, An Officer and a Gentleman, South Pacific, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Waitress, R.E.S.P.E.C.T., Blue Man Group, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Million Dollar Quartet Christmas, and My Fair Lady.
The Lutcher Theater presents a daytime performing arts series, Lutcher Incredible Kids Events, for area students and the public. National and international performing arts companies often conduct pre-show audience interaction opportunities and post-show discussions with correlating study guides, which are made available for teachers on the Lutcher Theater website. Lutcher Incredible Kids Events offer a "page-to-stage" experience for students and meet Texas and Louisiana state learning criteria making them perfect for field trips. In 2022, the Lutcher presented Freedom Riders, Macbeth, Paddington Gets in a Jam, and Peter Rabbit Tales.
