The Lutheran Heritage Foundation (lhf) fulfills the great commission found in the book of matthew by translating, publishing, distributing, and introducing Lutheran resources that are bible-based, christ-centered, and reformation-driven so that the church may increase. In order to carry out this work lhf utilizes individuals worldwide who serve as translators, reviewers, editors, general linguists, and theological specialists in order to provide the most accurate translations possible. Since inception in 1992 lhf has published 1526 titles in 167 different languages amounting to over 5,747,952 books printed. During 2023 over 127 titles were printed in 63 languages amounting to over 450,000 books/pamphlets being printed during the year. This included first time publications in 19 new languages a significant publishing accomplishment during the year was the printing of 25,000 additional copies of himnario luterano (a spanish hymnal) that is now being distributed throughout the americas. In conjunction with the hymnal lhf also reprinted its spanish bible with small catechism (21,000 copies), a child's garden of bible stories (24,500 copies), jesus never fails booklet (47,250 copies) and small catechism with explanation (10,600 copies). A french hymnal called liturgies et cantiques luthrienes dition africaine was also printed (12,000 copies) for distribution in francophone africa and haiti. The topical series of what about? Pamphlets written by former Lutheran church Missouri synod president rev. Dr. a.l. Barry addressing doctrinal topics, moral issues, and concerns in the church to help christians grow in their understanding of these important questions was translated and published in whole or in part in 4 different languages. Other printing highlights included a first printing of the small catechism with explanation in 2 new languages and reprinting in 4 other languages. The enchiridion was also printed in 16 new languages and reprinted in 2 other languages. A child's garden of bible stories was printed for the first time in 11 new languages and reprinted in 9 other languages. Bible stories in pictures was reprinted multiple times in vietnamese (both old and new testament stories). God's word for you was also printed for the first time in the Georgian language and reprinted in vietnamese. The jesus never fails evangelism booklet written by lhf founder, dr. robert rahn, was printed in 21 new languages and reprinted in 4 languages with many additional translations now underway. The second volume of the khmer book of concord was printed completing the translation while a first volume of the indonesian book of concord was also printed. The complete book of concord was also reprinted in russian. Other portions of the book of concord, bible commentary, luther's works, and devotional materials were also published in a variety of languages. The published resources are distributed through missionaries, churches, and individuals worldwide with increasing requests from within the united states for campus ministry, mission trip, or evangelism outreach purposes. In order to ensure that the resources are understood and used effectively the lhf conducts introductory workshops and training seminars for pastors, church leaders, women, and or children depending upon the content of the volume. Despite the ongoing impact of war lhf was able to continue its publishing program in both ukraine and russia. Resources in ukrainian and russian are being provided to individuals and churches remaining in the impacted countries and also for those who had to leave everything behind and flee to other countries including the united states. Lhf is also taking steps to provide more resources in electronic and audio formats especially for titles like jesus never fails, god's word for you and the daily spanish devotionals titled la palabra del seor permance para siempre (the word of the lord endures forever). The lhf is blessed to have a faithful group of dedicated volunteers that assist with mailings and other projects on a regular basis.
