Rendering care for loved ones with dementia can be a long, exhausting and ambiguous journey with many sorrows and challenges. The almost universal absence of cohesive and comprehensive information, support and services adds frustration to an already burdened population of novice caregivers. The central goal of the Lynden Legacy charity is to provide education, information, support and other important and necessary resources to this vast group of family and friends suddenly thrown into the role of caregiver. This will be accomplished through an interwoven combination of websites, podcasts, seminars, access to knowledgeable and experienced professionals and instructional multimedia. Perhaps of greatest value will be a caregivers network where families can find temporary help from a pool of trained, vetted and bonded in-home professionals to provide respite, advocacy, companionship and other assistance.lynden Legacy will be a central clearing house for important knowledge and assistance and act as a trusted bridge between caregivers and these and other available recources.
