Program areas at Mackida Loveal and Trip Mentoring Outreach Center
MLT exceeded outcome goal of 99% of youth will remain enrolled in an academic program geared towards graduation. During 2023, 100% of the youth participating in MLT's programming remained in an academic program.
MLT meet the goal of families involved in program would not have any substantiated charges with DCS. Families received wrap around services for family preservation. In 2023 no prevention families became involved with the system. This goal has been exceeded for the last three years.
MLT exceeded outcome goal of 95% of youth in the program will not re-offend while enrolled in this program and 1-year post programming. MLT had a 1% recidivism rate in 2023.
During 2023 MLT participated with four schools to teach agriculture, culinary, and animal husbandry to elementary, middle school, and high school scholars. At the end of programming five youth were selected to become peer mentors with our Equestrian therapy program. The youth build stables and help train rescue horses. One of the youth on probation completed all training requirements and was successfully discharged from probation.
