Program areas at Madam CJ Walker Institute for Women Entrepreneurs of Color
The Institute will develop and offer educational programs and materials on topics relevant to entrepreneurship that are tailored to the specific needs and perspectives of underserved Women. Relevant topics include, but are not limited to, financial literacy, business planning, implementation and evaluation, finding investors, governance best practices, marketing, and community engagement. The Institute will support underserved Women and help them overcome the systemic barriers they face. The programs and activities of the Institute will be conducted from its headquarters, the historic site known as villa lewaro, the mansion of the first black woman entrepreneur.
