Program areas at CF
One of the four focus areas of the madison alexander Cooper and martha roane coopper Foundation is community building and social services in the waco area. During the fiscal year, grants were made for the following purposes: staff and capacity building support for greater waco legal services, flooring replacement and repairs for a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility, race equity work, a matching grant to build a habitat for humanity home, blood drives and fire recovery services, communities in schools services on school campuses, the families and foster care coalition, family engagement programming on school campuses, facility renovations at a child development center, casa salaries, a marketing campaign to increase snap engagement, a new position at the cove, and onsite security cameras at caritas.
Three more focus areas for the Foundation are education, health, and senior citizens. During the fiscal year, the Foundation made grants for the following purposes: advocacy for public education, an art installation at waco isd middle school, the waco health equity fund at planned parenthood, meal replacement and nutritional supplements for cancer patients, mammography screenings, and a freezer replacement at meals on wheels.
Another focus area for the Foundation is arts, culture, and recreation. During the fiscal year, the Foundation made grants for the following purposes: the artprenticeship program, technology and office upgrades for historic waco, the renovation of a therapy pool at ymca, support to hire a development director at the waco symphony association, support for an exhibit at the mayborn museum, and remote learning technology for the new education center at the cameron park zoo.
