Program areas at Madison County House of Hope
The building program continued. Production slowed but we were able to complete the air conditioning and electrical. Adjustments to framing were complete and the structure is now ready to install sheetrock. Our community activities were the same as in previous years. We continued our mowing ministry, cemetery maintanance and odd jobs for churchs and others in the area. We worked with First Baptist Church of Madisonville on their Pathway of Lights presentation, the Volunteer Fire Department's Haunted Farm and Hearts and Hands (a ministry for single mothers.) Our program also provided help to Family Faith Church in Huntsville, Willis and Coldsprings Texas. We again provided families in need with boxes of food and shelter as needed. Our ministry to the local jail and state prison in Madison County and surrounding counties continued in 2023. The participants gave their testimony and then extended the inmates the opportunity to claim their salvation. Our focus was on our population. In 2023 we had as many as 103 residents. Out of those - 32 graduated, we had 37 accept Jesus Christ as their personal savior and 42 reaffirm their faith. Finally, the building program progressed as the Lord provided the resources to get it completed. Communitites continued to have needs, and we were there to serve. We improved and advanced our building program, Helped the community, and continued to teach and practice our Christ centered process of dealing with alcoholism and drug-addiction.
