Program areas at MAHI International
In 2023, MAHI International, through its Global Health Exchange initiative, successfully facilitated the delivery of 32 40-foot shipping containers filled with donated medical supplies and equipment to hospitals in underserved communities worldwide. These vital contributions significantly bolstered healthcare infrastructure, enabling medical professionals to deliver improved care and life-saving services to a population of approximately 5 million individuals. The provision of these resources helped bridge critical gaps in medical availability, ensuring that communities with limited access to healthcare could benefit from enhanced treatment capabilities and strengthened health outcomes.
MAHI International's medical outreach initiative in 2023 played a pivotal role in delivering direct healthcare services and capacity-building efforts to underserved regions. MAHI facilitated the deployment of specialized medical teams to the Federated States of Micronesia, Mexico, and Zambia. These teams provided essential healthcare services, including primary care, surgical procedures, and emergency medical interventions, addressing urgent health needs in these communities. Furthermore, they engaged in teaching and educational programs, equipping local healthcare providers with advanced skills and knowledge to enhance their long-term medical practice and improve patient care standards.
During the current fy, bienestar is wellbeing program was created and partnered with Mahi International as the fiscal sponsor. During fy, distributed +4,256,431 pounds of free fresh produce (vegetables and fruits), donated by food forward and the farmlink project, and recorded through both 501c3 organizations. An additional +2.1 million pounds of fresh produce was donated by the farmlink project to the inland empire health plan and distributed through the bienestar program. The distributions of +6 million pounds benefited communities in the inland empire such as riverside, san bernardino, ontario, trona, perris, moreno valley, redlands, needles, and chino, among others serving over 10,000 individuals and families.
