Maine Citizens for Clean Elections educates and engages the public on money in politics and campaign finance law, encourages citizen participation in our electoral system and government, and works to ensure that Maine's campaign finance laws, elections, and government serve the public interest. The nonpartisan nonprofit organization engages Maine people from across the political spectrum using research, education, and outreach to promote fairness, inclusion, and opportunity in our politics. They believe in the importance of the Maine Clean Election Act.

Maine Citizens for Clean Elections works to engage Maine people from across the political spectrum, using research, education, and outreach to further fairness, inclusion, and opportunity in our politics. We believe in the importance of the Maine Clean Elections Act, the first system of full public financing for state candidates in the country, passed via referendum in 1996. Achievements in 2022-2023 included the production of reports on the state of Maine's democracy and Money in Politics, non-partisan election observation and voter information, supporting efforts to ensure safe access to voting during, and more.
