Advocacy, information sharing & collaboration: mirc advocates for member organizations and immigrant leaders to strengthen and expand work in their individual communites. Mirc is advancing systemic change and equity in Maine through collaborative advocacy for policy development at state and city levels to ensure immigrants voices are heard when issues impacting their daily lives and economic integration come before the legislature. Mirc strengthens the members collective understanding by promoting two-way communication about what is happening across Maine to support immigrants and providing up to date information of policy changes impacting the community. Mirc collaborates with members to achieve policy objectives that improve the lives of immigrants in Maine. Mirc facilitates a strong public voice to empower immigrants by building the capactity of ethnic-led organizations and, in turn, strengthening their work.
