Program areas at Maker Park Radio Incorporated
A three month long music performance and interview focus called "Open Airwaves". September = Hip Hop & R & B, October = Latin Music, November = Gospel, Soul Jazz and Blues. We had 60 visiting artists and produced three external events with public access for approximately 2,500 attendees. Tickets were donation based.
Jazz and Blues Series at Seppe. This was a weekly series of artists playing at an outdoor space at a restaurant. The artists received the majority of the funds, we provided technical equipment, engineering, curation and marketing.
Summer Sessions: A five-part outdoor music series open to all which celebrated and collaborated with neighboring music and cultural communities. 1. Hip Hop, 2. Soul, 3. Caribbean, 4. Roots Music, 5. Funk Music. All events were a $5 suggested donation for entry, 3000 Attended, and 30 musicians were paid.
Community Studio Space for broadcasting, DJing, and citizen journalism. We broadcast 40+ hours per week of original programming by the many music, social and neighborhood communities around us. We provide free training and practice time as well as provide a free platform to amplify the arts and cultures on Staten Island and beyond. It is free to do a show on MakerParkRadio.nyc and free to listen on our website, free app, or various streaming platforms.
